The BC Mixed Doubles Championship shall be an open entry event taking place at McArthur Island in Kamloops from February 7th-12th, 2023. The format for the 2023 preliminary round will be a triple knockout format and the playoff format based upon the total number of entries (see chart under rule 8 H of the 2023 Curl BC General Rules). Games will be 8 ends in length. The successful team will qualify for the 2023 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championships, March 21st-26th, 2023 in Sudbury Ontario.
Rules:
• Teams may be comprised of eligible players from any zone in the province.
• A team shall be comprised of two players, one male and one female.
• Alternate or spare players are not allowed. A team shall forfeit any game(s) in which it fails to have both athletes playing for the entire game.
• Each team will receive 24 minutes of thinking time.
• Each team shall deliver five stones per end. The player delivering the team’s first stone of the end shall also deliver the team’s last stone of that end. The other team member shall deliver the team’s second, third and fourth stones for that end. The player delivering the first stone can change from end to end.
• The last stone advantage is determined by each player delivering one stone (each with the same turn) – meaning that one team will deliver clockwise and one team will deliver counter clockwise each game.
