Course Fees: $500.00+tax for Ice Technicians working at Curl BC Member Clubs, $800.00+ tax for non-Curl BC Members. BC Ice Techs will have exclusive access to registration until May 31, after which the course will open up for other Ice Technicians (if space remains). Please note the Prerequisites (below)
Successful Completion* of the Head Ice Technician Course gains "Trained" status. To gain "Certified" status you must complete of the online quiz (must be completed within 45 days of taking the course) and passing an in person or video evaluation.

Designed for Ice Technicians who actively work in curling clubs and wish to become Certified Curling Canada Ice Technician. This course replaces the previous “Level 2” Course offered by provincial member associations, and is meant to augment the training that Ice Technicians receive from their supervisors and/or mentors. The course content will be delivered in a mixture of classroom and on-ice training by a Curling Canada/ Curl BC facilitator. Topics covered include: Refrigeration Basics, Refrigeration Plant Safety, Floor Care, Pebbling & Scraping, Water Quality, and Stone Maintenance.

The prerequisite for this course requires that the candidates have either:

Payment: Candidates must follow the registration link below and register with Curling IO to make arrangements for payment. Online payment through Curling IO is encouraged, but e-Transfer to CurlBC or cheque mailed to the Curl BC office is also acceptable. Payment will not be collected in person. (See instructions once directed to the payment section of this registration form). Payment in full must be received by September 20, 2025, or registration is not considered to be completed.

Cancellation Policy: A cancellation fee of $50 will be incurred for withdrawals after July 1, 2026. The course requires a minimum of 6 participants to run. If the minimum threshold for participation is not met by July 1, 2026, then those that have signed up will be contacted regarding refund and alternative course arrangements.
